Jenna Barton is an American illustrator who draws animals. Barton was born in San Francisco but currently lives in the mountains of Utah. She is inspired by her dreams, travels, experiences, and the aesthetic and emotions of the rural environments where she grew up. she combines watercolor and digital processing to create mysterious anthropomorphic scenes of dogs, foxes, deer, and other four-legged beings. These eerily rendered creatures often have blank glowing eyes that suggest the animal is possessed or hiding a deep inner world. As an artist, Jenna Barton described the hardest part of being an artist as: “for me, it is the gulf between what I see in my head and the feeling I want to evoke, and what’s there on the page. My technical skills sometimes limit what I want to convey, and I start wondering if I really had a clear picture of it in my head in the first place.”
