Chen Jie is a tattoo artist from China. She creates intricate watercolor tattoos that look like real paintings that you can always bring with yourself. Her tattoos are inspired by the ancient Chinese arts of painting and calligraphy. They resemble the simplicity and dynamism of Japanese ukiyo-e, which also inspires tattoo art. In 2017, Chen collaborated with Nike on their The Force is Female campaign which celebrated the strong women shaping their culture and inspiring their communities. Thanks to Chen Jie’s unique style to tattooing, her tattoos look so light that it almost looks like they’re made with watercolors and a brush. She has amassed over a quarter of a million followers on Instagram.
