Schalk van der Merwe is a multidiscipline, visual artist. He is represented by “Artist’s Proof”, “Hout Bay Gallery”, “Rossouw Modern” and “Nadia Arnold Ltd”. Schalk was born in 1968 in South Africa. He studied graphic design at CPUTS. His art is full of emotions and often provokes a strong reaction from the viewer. He uses different techniques to realize his visceral paintings of portraits.
