Katie O’Sullivan is a Postwar and Contemporary artist who was born in 1959 in Ireland. She studied art at the Chelsea College of Art. She first exhibited in London in 1981 and since then has exhibited her work in London, New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Her abstract style is a rebellious response to her classical and technical artistic training. Having always been drawn to the artistry of the human form, the New-Jersey born artist enrolled in every portrait-painting workshop or figure drawing class she could, even while majoring in graphic design at Parson’s School of Design in New York City. O’Sullivan’s paintings are reflections of the artist’s travels, studies, personal experiences, and visceral feelings, while also taking on a life of their own as emotionally charged figures push and pull their way onto the canvas. Her paintings are in collections all over the world including those of HRH Prince Philip, Prince Fahd Salman, Sheik Mohammed, Mr. JP McManus, Mr. John Magnier, Lord, and Lady Lloyd Webber and Mr. Roger Waters.
